What is the proper etiquette for talking to someone with a disability?
Answered By Editor
You should treat disabled individuals with
respect. Some things you can do when talking
to someone with a disability are:
* Talk directly to the disabled person.
Avoid talking to his or her companions as if
the person weren't capable of understanding.
* Keep away from words such as invalid,
cripple, diseased and other negative words
which might offend a disabled individual.
* Words of sympathy should also be avoided.
* Practice eye contact whenever you
converse with a disabled individual.
